Kahhal Kilim

Kahhal Looms’ kilims draw inspiration from the triangle form in Egypt’s folk tradition. In ancient Egypt, the triangle was used as a basic unit in symbols such as the lotus flower and the ankh sign, which symbolized eternity and existence. Coptic beliefs adopted the concept of the trinity, and the triangle also appeared in popular art as a symbol of protection from evil and envy, as well as a sign of balance, ascension, and justice. In Islamic art, the triangle is evident through geometric abstraction and the use of structured networks.
