Kahhal Looms Cycas Hand-Knotted

About the rug: This is a hand-knotted rug with 160,000 knots per square meter in a double knot construction. It is made of face yarn that is Egyptian wool with bamboo silk inlays, and the warp and weft are 100% Egyptian cotton. The pile height is about 5mm and the net weight is approximately 3500 grams per square meter. 

About the design: This Jam by Hedayet hand knotted rug is inspired by Aswan's Botanical Gardens display of dried plant specimen that can be found in Upper Egypt's beautiful Nile landscapes. This rug is part of the "Weaving Eternity Collection" that debuted at the Grand Egyptian Museum, Cairo, soft opening in November 2022.
