Kahhal Looms Solar Boat Hand-Knotted

About the rug: This is a hand-knotted rug with 160,000 knots per square meter in a double knot construction. It is made of face yarn that is Egyptian wool with bamboo silk inlays, and the warp and weft are 100% Egyptian cotton. The pile height is about 5mm and the net weight is approximately 3500 grams per square meter.                                  

About the design: The Solar Boat rug by multidisciplinary designer Shosha Kamal is part of the “Weaving Eternity Collection” that debuted at the Grand Egyptian Museum, Cairo, at its soft opening in November 2022. Inspired by 20th century Art Deco, the rug design is meant to introduce Ancient Egyptian heritage and art to every modern interior.
