Kahhal x Shosha Braided Carpet

A collaboration between Kahhal Looms and designer Shosha Kamal, this braided carpet detail draws from the relationship between hair and identity in ancient Egypt.

In tombs, braided wigs and garments were placed beside the mummy as essentials for the next life. Braids represented divine allure, social distinction, and readiness for paradise. This carpet braid channels that same energy: a tactile homage to the afterlife, where beauty was eternal and every thread carried meaning.
